KTM 390 Duke: Expert Review

The Duke 390 is the best bike from KTM in India for performance, and in its 2024 version, it's more practical than before but still has all the thrilling speed and power.

Design

The 2024 KTM 390 Duke looks tough because it was inspired by the KTM 890 Duke. It has a cool new LED headlight, long fuel tank extensions, updated radiator covers, and a changed tail. The bright orange color might not be for everyone, and some people might not like the uneven gaps around the fuel tank.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The Duke 390 has a new engine that is more powerful and easier to ride. It now has better torque at lower speeds, making it calmer and easier to handle in the city. The bike also has improved brakes, making it safe and easy to stop quickly. The seat height has been lowered, making it easier for shorter riders to ride comfortably. On the highways, the 390 Duke can go fast and maintain high speeds easily.

It's the best in its class for this. However, in the city, it can feel shaky because of vibrations. But once you speed up, the vibrations aren't as strong. During testing, the 390 Duke got 25.26kmpl in the city and 29.64kmpl on the highway. We rode the bike at an average speed of 30-35kmph in the city and 80-90kmph on the highway. Overall, the Duke 390 is now a great option for riders looking for a fast and confident ride.

Handling & Ride Quality

The Duke 390 still handles great, making it easy to turn and not feel heavy. However, if you push the bike too hard, the tires may slip at sharp turns. The ride on this bike has gotten a lot better than before. You can adjust the suspension to fit different weights, and it's easy to find the right setting for you. The stock suspension is comfortable and sporty.

Comfort

The KTM Duke 390 is comfortable to ride. The handlebars are angled slightly and the rider sits upright. The footpegs are higher up but still comfortable. This makes it easy for riders to go on long trips without feeling sore.

Features

The 2024 KTM 390 Duke has a modern 5-inch screen that can connect to your phone. It can show you calls, control music, and give you directions while riding. The new switches on the handlebars make it easy to navigate through the options. The display is clear and easy to read, unlike the older model.

There are three riding modes called Street, Rain, and Track on this bike. It also has a special feature called launch control. Street and Track modes have similar power and throttle response, but Track mode also has launch control. Launch control helps you start faster on a race track. You can only use the launch control in Track mode after the first service.

Should You Buy Ktm Duke 390?

The 2024 KTM 390 Duke is a practical and thrilling bike and a great choice for experienced riders looking for a high-performance ride. However, it is not recommended for beginners or inexperienced riders as it is very fast and can be dangerous if not handled properly.
